Brett Lofton, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, brings a rich tapestry of culinary heritage and military discipline to the vibrant food scene of Charlotte. Raised by a single mother, Brett's culinary journey began in the heart of his family's kitchen, where he absorbed the culinary wisdom of his mother and grandmother, an esteemed chef.

After dedicating several years to serving his country in the United States Marines, Brett was honorably discharged, finding himself embarking on a new chapter as a disabled veteran. Undeterred by challenges, he embraced fatherhood, nurturing two sons while pursuing his academic ambitions. Brett earned his bachelor's degree with distinction from Johnson C Smith University, and masters from Texas Southern University where he honed his leadership skills and cultivated a passion for entrepreneurship.

Damir Carey, Hailing from the bustling streets of New Jersey before finding his second home in North Carolina, Damir Carey brings a fusion of East Coast flair and Southern charm to the culinary landscape of Charlotte. His culinary journey began in the bustling kitchens of his childhood, where he learned the art of cooking from the skilled women in his family.

Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to explore new horizons, Damir made his way to North Carolina to pursue higher education at Shaw University, eventually graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Alongside his academic pursuits, he continued to sharpen his culinary skills, drawing inspiration from the diverse flavors and traditions of both his hometown and his adopted state.

With a deep-rooted commitment to excellence and a love for culinary arts instilled in him by generations past, Together they realize a shared dream: to establish the Big Homie Cooks food truck in Charlotte.
